The Garden of Extinction

One of my favorite activities after writing a story, is wasting a good bit of time on Pinterest making a mood board that captures the essence of the piece. This week, my mood board centered around The Garden of Extinction, a short story just published in The Lowestoft Chronicle. It is my first published Sci-fi piece, set in the future in a country that may or may not be Japan. But the themes in the story are very relevant to today: Government obfuscation, environmental damage, and our obsession with longevity. And, of course, the love of family. I was interested to see how the board would turn out considering the futuristic nature of the piece, but I am actually delighted. Hope you enjoy both it and the story itself,

Best,

Sam xo

P.S. Delighted to announce the story has also been nominated for The Best of American Science Fiction and Fantasy.
